It is that very Scripture that has inspired me to share my thoughts on a few personal experiences that has confirmed God's presence. The posts will be labeled, "My Thoughts: A Witness Story .#" Each story will have a number so they'll be easy to find.
In 2010, my oldest son was about 2 1/2. As most boys do, he liked to play fight and wrestle. Since my husband was deployed, that left me as his play partner. It was during play one day that what should have been a fun day turned dark. You see, I was play fighting with him when he actually made contact and hit my stomach.
Let me tell you, the dude packs a punch! I was surprised at how much it hurt and considering I was about 4 month pregnant, a little concerned. After an hour, the pain was still there so I called my ob doctor's office. The nurse informed me I should be fine, but just in case, she went through miscarriage symptoms.
In the middle of the night, I woke up. I'm not sure what woke me because not a sound was stirring. I went to the bathroom and that's when I discovered I was hemorrhaging. I tell you, that has to be the scariest feeling and sight in the world. I rushed to the hospital, toddler in tow. I had made a call to a friend who would meet me their to watch my little one. Fortunately, her husband worked with mine. He made a phone call to my husband's deployed location to inform him of what happened.
I've never been so scared in my life. Instead of giving into that fear, I sung. I sung "Awesome Wonder," to the baby in my belly. Sometimes I sung in my head, sometimes out loud. Each time I sang, peace covered me. Each time I sang, I felt a presence, a comfort that cannot be described.
I left the ER and stayed with my friend. That day, she became family to me. And that baby in my belly is now a happy 5yr old boy.
That day remains clear in my memory. It's a day that will always remind me of God's peace and how much He cares. It's a story I wanted to share to inform you that God is real.
How has God shown you He is real?
